Alexandra Lee

Alexandra (Sandra) Jean Lee, 24, passed away on January 4, 2010 at a hospice in Danvers, Massachusetts, in peace and surrounded by her family and loved ones. The cause of death was a brain tumor that was diagnosed in June 2009. The beloved daughter of Sun Hee Lee and the late Dr. John Joonjae Lee, Alexandra Lee graduated from Phillips Academy in 2003 and graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a bachelor's degree in history in 2007. Ms. Lee worked in Boston since graduation as an analyst for the marketing agency Digitas and had planned to enter business school in the fall. Ms. Lee was active in her community in many ways, including leading Dartmouth College's Big Brother/Big Sister program and doing fundraising for water programs in developing nations. In addition to her mother, Ms. Lee is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Stephen and Helen, Kenneth and Rebecca, and Chris and Melinda; her boyfriend Wesley Tjosvold, her nieces Caroline and Charlotte, her nephew Joshua, and her stepfather John C. Kim. Services will be held on January 16 at 11 am at the Korean United Methodist Church of Metro Detroit, 42693 Dequindre Road, Troy, with a Boston memorial service to follow in March. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Massachusetts General Hospital/North Shore Cancer Center or to the Korean United Methodist Church of Metro Detroit.
