Alfred J. Finocchiaro, 74, died Sunday evening, December 17, 2023. Surrounded by his loving family, Al passed away peacefully at his home in Danvers.
Born in Lawrence on July 25, 1949, to the late Alfio and Constance Finocchiaro, Al was a man deeply rooted in his community. Raised and educated in Lawrence, he was a proud Danvers resident for 58 years. Al's passion for mechanics and customer service shone through in his businesses, Al's Auto Repair and the former Al's Arco in Danvers Square.
More than his professional accomplishments, Al was known for his varied interests and his love for life. An avid fan of woodworking, snowmobiling, ATV riding, and Harley Davidson motorcycles, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Al's love for ballroom dancing with his beloved wife, Dora, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events were the highlights of his life. His love for 1950s and 60s music was well known among his friends and family.
Al's legacy as an amazing husband, father, and grandfather is indisputable. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and the joy he brought to his family and friends will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Dora (Robair) Finocchiaro, their daughters Danielle and Darci Finocchiaro, both of Danvers, his cherished grandchildren Dylan, Danyka, Sierra, and Christiana, his brothers Thomas, Joseph, Alan, and Paul, and his mother-in-law Carol Robair of Danvers, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

My 1st Cousin Al. Always there to help my brother Dave and I with our vehicles and first cars when younger. Uncle Red always made sure we brought them to cousin Al for repair. He would teach us about things we needed to know as a car owner. I remember when very young Dune Buggy rides at the Pits in Danvers or around the area. What a wonderful Cousin who the Johnson family all loved very much. RIP Al.
We will deeply miss you Al. Thank you for welcoming us into your life, your wonderful family and your home (Sebago and Danvers).
You always took the time to ask and truly care about our family.
Love always the Parziales

Dora, Danielle, & Darci – He will always be with you. He will walk by your side for eternity until you meet again. He will let you know when he is there. Be open to his signs. In Heaven, time stands still. He is free from his earthly illnesses and is smiling as he always did. He will be missed and he will always be loved. I love you cousin and we will meet again when it is our time. Love you all, Marcia Piazza

A great friend always there if you needed help. Our talks mainly involved woodworking and model trains. I’ve know Al for over 50 yeears from his gas station on High Street to his shop on Holten Street. He’d often stop by my house and ask me for construction or carpentry advice which he was eager to learn. He was great guy and will sadly missed. RIP Al, you will always be my friend.
Our condolences to Al’s family. We knew Al mainly as a very friendly, kind and talented car mechanic. So many times when we were young with young children and older cars he came to the rescue at Brookwood Lane. Rest in peace Al. Love and prayers to his family.

Our Deepest Condolences to Dora and the girls and all of the Finocchairo family. Whenever we saw Al at the shop he always had a smile and a quick joke to tell. May all the memories you shared bring you peace and put a smile on your face.
