Ann W. Brophy
September 29, 1931 ~ June 11, 2023
Ann W. Brophy, 91, died early Sunday morning, June 11, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late LTC Edward R. Brophy Jr., who predeceased her in 2019.
Born in Anniston, AL on September 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Lola (Thomas) Waugh. She was raised and educated in Anniston where she met a young army Lieutenant whom she married in 1954. She became a proud Army wife and traveled the world with her husband and children before settling in Danvers in 1973.
A communicant of Saint Richard Church, she enjoyed her bridge club and golfing. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother.
She leaves three children, Edward Brophy III and his wife, Martha, of Wilmington, NC, Therese Bonelli of Danvers, and James Brophy Sr. and his wife, Judith, of Peabody, five grandchildren, Michael Bonelli and his wife Stephanie, Keegan Brophy and his wife Rachel, Matthew Bonelli and his wife Laura, Shannon Brophy and her husband Nick, and James Brophy, a great-grandson, Lochlan, and her sister, Peggy as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Betty.
Her Funeral Service will be Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:30AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10AM. Ann was a beautiful lady. She was a wonderful neighbor and friend. The annual. Anastasi Christmas caroling party was never complete until the Brophy family arrived! Ann loved to reminisced about it whenever we spoke.
