Anna (Papamechail) Federico

DANVERS- formerly of Wakefield, Anna Federico, 94, began and ended her life in the town of Danvers, where she peacefully passed away on December 26, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends at her last home, Putnam Farm. She spent her childhood on Endicott Street as part of the large Papamechail family, and then spent many happy years in the town of Wakefield with her husband and daughters. Anna loved to spend her time visiting with family and friends, and was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Tontoquan chapter No. 100 and Daughters of Penelope organizations. Anna was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1940. Her first job was working after school at the Ideal Baby Shoe Company in Danvers. She graduated with a secretarial degree from the Salem Commercial School, and retired from the Boston Naval Shipyard after a long and rewarding career. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years Ross P., and leaves behind two daughters, Paula Federico and Mary Ballard and her husband Jim, two grandchildren, Jaime Stange and Jeremy Ballard and five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Vasilea Varoutsos, and Constantine, George and Eleutherios Papamechail. Her Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
