When I moved to Glover Landing in Marblehead, Anne and I became close friends, both single and both involved in caring for the sick.
After I married and became a mother, Anne was the first person to babysit for us. We were so impressed with her devotion, for when we arrived home again, she was lying on the floor with the baby on her chest. He had cried and cried until she lay down with him, and she had not wanted to risk disturbing him.
I shall never forget our wonderful friendship. Shirley McMahon Oktay
