Anthony D. Santorella

DANVERS-Anthony D. Santorella, 86, passed away surrounded by his family in his home on February 13, 2024.He was the husband of the late Virginia (Hunt) Santorella.
Born in Peabody on July 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Toomey) Santorella. He was raised and educated in Peabody and in his early years he had worked in the leather shops. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps. A longtime Danvers resident, Anthony had been a firefighter for the Town of Danvers for 27 years. He was also the owner and operator of Santorella Mason. Upon retirement he was the facilities management coordinator for TD Bank. He enjoyed playing the accordion, gardening and playing cribbage. Anthony was a beloved father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Jane Santorella of Danvers and Marc and Valerie Santorella of Danvers, his sister Concetta Lydon of Peabody and four grandchildren, Tony, Daniel, Stephanie and Marc Jr. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Santorella, Rosemay McQueon and Alice Caron.
His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45AM prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Danvers Firefighters Relief Fund or In Touch Ministries at intouch.org.
