Anthony R. “Tony” Halupowski, Sr. died October 16, 2012 at the age of 97 on Liberty Street in Danvers. He was the husband of Mary (Gynan) Halupowski, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage. He was born in the family home on Liberty Street in Danvers on April 22, 1915. He was the son of the late John and Mary (Cidzik) Halupowski. Tony served in the Army Air Corp in the early 40's. Besides his love for family, his second love was for his garden where he grew all of his own vegetables and sold his overabundance from his driveway vegetable stand. He has always lived on Liberty Street. He will be missed by his family, friends and the many passersby that gave him a wave or a toot of their horn when he sat outside in his driveway. Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by his daughters, Mary Lee Angers and husband, Thomas, Sally Imlach and husband, William, and Linda Watson and husband, Lance, and by his son, Anthony Jr, and wife, Sharon, 8 grandchildren, Thomas and Timothy Angers, Janel and Brian Halupowski, Toni Margios, Eric and Ian Imlach and Bree-Na Watson and enjoyed his 9 great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 13 siblings. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, October 19, 2012 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Vst. Hrs will be held prior to the service Fri. morning from 9:30AM-10:45AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Tony’s name to the Hospice of Mass., 391 Broadway, Everett MA 02149.
