Antonio Lapolla, 78, peacefully passed away on July 3, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Calitri) Lapolla with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Panni, Italy, he was the son of the late Luigi and Giuseppina (Cotoia) Lapolla. He had been a Danvers resident for 55 years and a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church. Antonio was a stone mason for many years, after which he became a co-founder and co-owner and operator of Calitri’s Restaurant in Danvers. Antonio was a devoted father to his children; Luigina Maniscalco and her husband Thomas of Danvers, Antionetta Bellizzi and her husband Robert of San Diego, CA, and Joseph Lapolla and his wife Karen of West Peabody. He adored his seven grandchildren; Carla and Vincent Maniscalco, Carolina and Ava Bellizzi, and Anthony, Brianna, and Kelsey Lapolla. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers; Giovanna Bianco, Maria Mastroianni, and Peitro, Carlo, Michele, Guiseppe Lapolla, all of Montreal, Canada, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Vito Lapolla. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Monday, July 9, 2012 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours are Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 2:00P.M.-7:00P.M. at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St, Danvers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Antonio’s name to the Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
