Antonio Procaccini
May 4, 1933 ~ June 23, 2024
Antonio Procaccini, 91, of Gloucester, formerly of Danvers, passed away in his home on Sunday, June 23, 2024, of natural causes. He was the husband of Maria (Paglia) Procaccini.
Born in Panni, Italy on May 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Carmela (Calitri) Procaccini. In 1952, Antonio immigrated to Montreal, Canada to be with and marry his childhood love, Maria. They met in Panni and in their early teens promised each other to be sweethearts forever. The young couple moved to the United States in 1957 where they raised their daughters in Danvers. He had a long career as an owner and operator of real estate and was a successful business entrepreneur. His sharp mind and curious nature made him excel in all he did. Antonio, naturally multi-talented, was an accomplished winemaker, a fine furniture-maker and refinisher, jack-of-all-trades, handyman and gardener. He enjoyed his home and listening to music. Most of all, he was dedicated to his wife and daughters, who meant the world to him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Maria, he is survived by two daughters, Carmelina Procaccini and her husband, Steven Oransky of Gloucester and Angelina Procaccini of Rowley, his two sisters, Anna Izzi and Lucia DeMichele both of Montreal, Canada and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Alfonso Procaccini and Filomena Vernetti.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. Donations may be made in Antonio’s name to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org Funeral arrangements made by C.R.
