Arnold P. Harris

Arnold Paul Harris, 85, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. He was the loving husband of Myrna (Cohen) Harris, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Malden on Jan. 31, 1928, he was the son of the late Daniel and Sarah (Goldstein) Harris. He was raised and educated in Malden and served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. A longtime Malden resident, he resided in Florida for 15 years until more recently making his home in Middleton. For thirty years, he operated Arnie’s T.V. in Malden. He was a Past Master of the Mt. Scopus Lodge and in his retirement he volunteered with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department. He was a beloved “Papa” to his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Steven Harris and his wife Bonnie of Cape Elizabeth, Maine and Scott Harris and his wife Sharon of Easton, CT, a daughter, Ilene Twiss and her husband Frank of Middleton, seven grandchildren, Dennis and Ryan Willette, William Twiss, and Danny, Sarah, Marissa, and David Harris, a brother, Marvin Harris of Florida, and a loving extended family. Services will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Interment in Lebanon Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Condolence calls may be made at the home of his daughter, Ilene Twiss, following the interment and on Saturday from 4-8PM, Sunday from 12-8PM, and Monday from 12-8PM with a minyan service at 7PM on Saturday and Sunday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.

My sincere condolences – especially to Myrna and Marvin and to Scott and kids. I will always remember all of the Harris’s; particularly their involvement and assistance at Temple Tifereth Israel and as dear long-time friends to my wife, Nana, and me!
