GLEN, NH—Arthur J. Cassidy, 82, formerly of Danvers, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his home in Glen, NH. He was the loving husband of Joan M. (Ruest) Cassidy, his beloved high school sweetheart, with whom he shared sixty years of marriage. Born in Peabody on July 16, 1933, he was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1952. For nearly thirty-eight years, Mr. Cassidy was employed by Danvers Electric as a lineman, retiring as forman. He loved golfing, boating in the Danvers River, and staying busy around the house he proudly built in Glen, NH, where he had resided since 1989. He leaves his children, Joel Cassidy and his wife Lois of Salem, and Joan Woods of Danvers, two grandchildren, Robert Woods and Jill Bittner and her husband Daniel, two great-grandchildren, Ella and Foster, his brother-in-law, Raymond Ruest and his wife Lynn, and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation is Friday morning prior to the Mass from 9:30-10:45AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.   1. Mr Cassidy taught my sister and I how to ski and took us to Attitash for the first time. I will always remember spending time with Mr & Mrs C on their boat in the port and at their beautiful log home in NH. I will always cherish those memories. My condolences to the family!
