Arthur J. Deschene, 91, of Danvers, passed away following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Donna (Tarr) Deschene.
Born in Salem on February 16, 1933, he was the son of the late Omer and Rose (Englehart) Deschene. Arthur was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School in 1949. He served our country with the United States Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Arthur had a long and successful career in finance, working for over 20 years at Primerica. His sense of humor was always on display and he charmed everyone he met. He enjoyed being with his loved ones and playing golf all around the North Shore.
He is survived by his family, Michelle Deschene-Warren and her husband Hayden and their daughter Ariadne (Hailey), Kevin Deschene, Craig Deschene and his wife Janet, and Paula Glasser, Joanne Comier, Adele Cempellein, Eileen L’Italien, Mary Lou Garron and several grandchildren,great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by siblings, Agnes Craig, Lillian DiCroce, Theresa Lesch, John Deschene and Jim Deschene, and his stepsons Francis Deschene and Robert Deschene.
His Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, October 21,2024 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Visitation will be held on Monday prior to the service from 10-10:45AM. Burial will take place following the services in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Arthur’s name

Arthur was my uncle on my late mother’s side. I remember growing up with Paula, Kevin and Craig and having the time of our lives as All of us cousin’s would hang out together. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you all. Uncle Arthur is Now with his beloved sisters and brothers who went before him. Rest in Peace, Uncle.

Although I didn’t see you very often, I want to let you how very much my mother, Lilliane, appreciated everthing that you did for her, especially, after the passing of my father. She always looked forward to your visits and conversations, the times that you and Donna would take her for a ride, your thoughtfulness, generosity and your humor. May God welcome you into His Kingdom with open arms and reunite you with all of your family and friends. Until we meet again …..
