Arthur L. Bower, 75, died Friday, August 20, 2010 in Brigham & Women's Hospital following a long and courageous battle with mesothelioma. He was the loving husband of Beverly (Klosowski) Bower, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Born in Beverly on March 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Ross and Edith (Henderson) Bower. He was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Northeastern University. Mr. Bower was the president of Bower Associates and a partner of Thermal Resources. A lifelong musician, he played for many years with Manuel's Black & White Orchestra and in the house bands for several area establishments. He was a devoted husband and an adored father and grandfather. A man who always approached life with a sense of humor, he was generous, compassionate, and kind to all--a lover of people and music. In addition to his wife, he leaves his four children, Terrie Curtis of Danvers, Corie Tonneson of Beverly, Michael Bower of Beverly, and Craig Bower of Beverly, his siblings, Alice Gladu and Donald Bower, both of Colorado, 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Erica, and Jordan Curtis and Tanya and Vanessa Tonneson, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 11a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Beverly, 221 Cabot St., Beverly. Relatives and friends are invited. As requested, there are no visiting hours and burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Bower's name may be made to Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, P.O. Box 91840, Santa Barbara, CA 93190-1840.

We enjoyed our visits with your family as well during visiting hours. Ironically, we share in your grief as we too are dealing with the passing of dad this past weekend.
