Arthur Pelkey Sr.

Arthur D. Pelkey, Sr., 92, died Wednesday evening, May 12, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Born in Lynn on April 6, 1918, he was the son of the late George and Gertrude Pelkey. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. Mr. Pelkey went on to serve in the US Navy for 14 years, and was an honorably discharged WWII veteran. A Danvers resident for many years, he was employed for over twenty years with Metro Swift Sprinklers in Peabody, where he retired as president. He enjoyed flying and was a licensed pilot. He is survived by a son, Arthur D. Pelkey, Jr. and his companion Kathy Irving of Porter, ME, his grandchildren, Jeannine Pelkey of Danvers and Douglas Pelkey of CO, and a sister, Norma Gordon of NY. As requested, funeral services are private and there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
