Avis Rebecca Burnham

Avis Rebecca (Burnham) Longo, 93, died Tuesday evening in the Masconomet Regional Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Babe” Longo, who passed away in 2000. Born in Salem on September 18, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Wayland and Grace (Clay) Burnham. A lifelong Topsfield resident, she was educated there and was a graduate of the Topsfield High School. Mrs. Longo was a homemaker who was dedicated to family and friends. She was a member of the Essex Agricultural Society. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sue Longo Stotler. She leaves a number of dear friends. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11:30AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Relatives and friends are invited. As requested, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
