B. Burke Leonard

B. Burke Leonard, Jr., 75, of Danvers, died Monday, March 4, 2013 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a lengthy illness. Born in Boston on Nov. 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Bernard and Catherine (Connolly) Leonard. He was a graduate of B.C. High School and Boston College. Burke was employed for many years at Fishery Products in Danvers, retiring as Vice President & Treasurer. A longtime Peabody resident, Burke was a dedicated Special Olympics volunteer, serving as a coach and coordinator of Special Olympics in Peabody for many years. He was a member of the Peabody Elks #1409. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Keane) Leonard of Stoneham, three daughters, Michelle Giarusso and her husband David of Peabody, Joyce Muse and her husband Bryan of Peabody, and Sheila Orlandella and her husband John of Revere, five grandchildren, Branden Giarusso, Caitlin Giarusso Snow, Bridget Giarusso, Nicolette Muse, and Trevor Muse, two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Bella, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Bernie Leonard III, and his brother, John Leonard. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
