Barbara I. (Armstrong) Prescott, a Middleton resident for more than fifty years, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Hathorne Hill Healthcare in Danvers following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Earl E. Prescott. Born in Salem on July 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George and Charlotte (Wright) Armstrong. She was raised and educated in Salem . Mrs. Prescott was employed for more than ten years at Devcon in Danvers. She also worked for several years as a companion for special needs children. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, and collecting salt & pepper shakers. The last of eleven children, she leaves two daughters, Dorothy “Dolly” Pennell of Danvers and Donna Campbell of Middleton, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Earl “Butch” Prescott and Lawrence Prescott, and two sons-in-law, Walter Pennell and Gerald Campbell. Her Funeral Service will be Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday in the funeral home from 3-6PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.

    I am sorry to hear about the passing of Nana. I have some good memories of her coming out to Millbury with Donna when they would pick me up, visiting her little apartment in the circle development down the street from your home, and more. Those were some great times.
    I know she had been sick for sometime and may she rest peacefully now. I hope you remember all the good times you had with her.

  6. Dolly, Donna and family, I have so many wonderful memories of Auntie Barbara, Uncle Earl and so many good times we had. The barn in Middleton, the house in Vermont, so many, many great times. I am so sorry for your loss, and I can see them all together again, enjoying their own family reunions.
