Barbara J. Ryer

PEABODY- Barbara J. Ryer, 90, passed away on June 26, 2023 in Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas Ryer. Born in Middleton on October 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Lennart and Marie (Viard) Winquist. Barbara had been a longtime Middleton resident. For the past twenty years she had resided at Oak Ledge Heights in Peabody, where she had been the secretary for the Board of Directors. She graduated from Holten High School and received her associate degree from Burdett College in Boston. Barbara had a long career as an executive assistant. She had worked for DSS and NOFCO Printing. Barbara loved classical music and had been the organist at Saint Agnes Church for many years. She also enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her daughter Terry Ryer of Bethel, Maine. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. All other services are private.
