Barbara M. (West) Chambers, 102, of Danvers passed away on November 7, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late James W. Chambers, with whom she enjoyed over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Deerfield, New Hampshire on August 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Young) West. Barbara graduated from Medford High School. A long time Danvers resident, she also lived in Lynn and Cincinnati, Ohio for many years. Barbara had been a secretary for General Electric for many years. She loved to volunteer at both the Lynn and Danvers Senior Centers; and was part of the Accreditation Board for the Danvers Senior Center. Barbara was also a true patriot and would support veterans whenever possible. She and her husband, James, were keen dancers and loved Big Band music.

She is survived by her daughter Gail Foster of Cincinnati, Ohio, her daughter Karren Marchand of Green Bay, Wisconsin, her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Ellen Chambers of Danvers, her son-in-law Robert Florida of British Columbia, Canada, her sister Carol Glynn of Leominster, her grandchildren, David and Kevin Foster, Wendy Foster Adkins, Aisha Florida, Derek and Rick Kobel, Sarah St. Pierre, Megan Chambers Guay and Samuel Chambers, 19 great grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Janice Florida, grandson Michael Florida, brother James West, and sons-in-law, John Foster and David Marchand.

A visitation will be held from 10-11AM in the funeral home on Friday, November 15, 2024 with her funeral service to follow at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Operation Troop Support, 16 Trinity St., Danvers, MA, 01923 or online at https://www.operationtroopsupport.org or to the charity of your choice.
