Barbara M. (Linsdau) Merchant
March 22, 2010
Barbara M. (Linsdau) Merchant, 81, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born on April 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Charlotte (Nickerson) Linsdau. Her education began in the Gloucester schools and later continued in Beverly. She worked for many years at the Gloucester fisheries. Eventually, she became a Home Health Aide working for NSCAP in Peabody for about twenty years before her retirement in 2001. Those who knew Barbara will remember a kind, caring person. She was always there to lend a hand or help out any way that she could. It goes without saying that she was loved and will be missed very much. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Donald and Richard Linsdau. Her sister, Dorothy Fossa of Danvers has recently passed as well. She is survived by her son, Mark D. Merchant; a niece Dianne Finn of Danvers; a nephew Stephen Fossa of Peabody and their families; a large extended family with four generations of nieces and nephews and many close friends. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a graveside service to be shared with her sister at 11AM on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., off Route 1 South, Peabody
