Barbara R. (Robinson) Black, 97, of Wenham, died Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. She was the wife of the late F. Stewart Black, who predeceased her in 1998.

Born in Boston on December 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Winfield and Alice (Dow) Robinson. Barbara was raised and educated in Toronto, Ontario and Wellesley, graduating from Branksome School in Toronto and later from Wellesley High School.

A resident of Wenham for 66 years, Barbara worked for many years at the Wenham Tea House. She was deeply committed to her community and generously gave her time to many local organizations. She was a member of the Wenham Village Improvement Society and the Hamilton-Wenham Garden Club, served as a poll worker, census taker, and Girl Scout leader, and volunteered at the Wenham Museum. Together with her husband, she was a founding member of the Accord Food Pantry.

She leaves two daughters, Sandra Oliver and her husband Wayne of Minnesota and Virginia Wallace and her husband Jay of Danvers; four grandchildren, Allyse (Nathan) Barba, Lauren Oliver and Amy Aubrey, Stephanie (Steve) Prentice, and Benjamin Wallace; and two great-grandsons, Theo and Hunter.

Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Accord Food Pantry, 69 Willow St., So. Hamilton, MA 01982. Arrangements are by C.R.     To use you Mom’s greeting–“Hi Neighbor”. Don Luxton here. So very sad to hear of your Mom’s passing. She & your Dad were pillars of Larch Row & the Town of Wenham for many years. My deepest sympathy to all the family. I always enjoyed walking by 8 Larch Row to and from the PO. Your folks were always doing something in the yard. Stay well & stay safe.
