Beatrice (DeLorenzo) Chenery

Beatrice (DeLorenzo) Chenery, 86, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2011, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was the loving wife of the late Dr. Philip Chenery. Born in Beverly on October 20, 1925, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Maria Carolina (Serra) DeLorenzo. She was raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School in 1948. She raised her family in Arlington, MA, later returning to Danvers to live closer to her family in 1967. She worked for nearly 40 years for the New England Telephone Company as a supervisor in the corporate data center. Bea's entire life revolved around her family and friends. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and supported various charities through her contribution to the Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joanne and Richard Buckley of Danvers, Elaine and Michael Racki of Peabody, Kenneth and Lorraine Chenery of Peabody and son-in-law Thomas Weeks of Merrimac. She was predeceased by her oldest daughter Linda Weeks of Merrimac and her son Philip Chenery of Santa Monica, CA. Bea is survived by two brothers, Joseph “Pep” DeLorenzo of Beverly and John DeLorenzo of Wells, ME, and a sister, Rose Czarnecki of Danvers. She is predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Stone and Connie Camarda, and a brother Anthony “Chick” DeLorenzo. Bea also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, close friends and her beloved cat, Pete. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
