Brenda G. Martinson

Brenda G. Martinson, of Danvers, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 84 on December 16, 2023, following a period of declining health. Born in Boston on July 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine Martinson. Brenda's life was marked by dedication and service. She had a notable career as a manager at Kmart, where she worked for 26 years. Later, she worked as a local Realtor. Her commitment extended beyond her professional life, as she proudly served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Her dedication to her work and service spoke volumes about her character and her desire to contribute positively to her community. An avid knitter and craft enthusiast, Brenda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a love for reading that kept her mind active and engaged. Brenda's family was her pride and joy. She leaves behind a loving and extensive family, including her children: George “Marty” Martinson and his wife Shelli of Florida, Timothy Martinson and his wife Valarie of Stoneham, Sharon Van Ry of Texas, and Kelly-Anne Martinson of Newburyport. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren: Tara, Crystal, Aron, Timothy Jr., Kimberleigh, and Laci, and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Bella. Brenda was pre-deceased by her grandson, Joshua, whose memory she held dear. Funeral services will be private.
