Cecile Rita (Blanchette) Cote, 95, a longtime Danvers resident, died peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Monday, May 14, 2012 following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Julien R. “Sonny” Cote, with whom she shared 70 years of marriage. Born in Danvers on April 9, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Jules and Armeline (LeBoeuf) Blanchette. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1934. For more than thirty years, Mrs. Cote was employed at the Friend Box Company. She then worked for more than thirty years at Danvers Industrial Packaging, retiring at age 82. A lifelong communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, she was a longtime member of Our Lady’s Sodality. For many years, she and her husband were members of the Klondike Club in Salem. Dedicated to her family, she lived a joyful life filled with laughter, singing and dancing. She was warm and giving and loved by all who knew her, including her recent community of friends at the Herrick House in Beverly. She is survived by a daughter, Marie Cote of Haverhill, two grandchildren, Karen Cote of South Berwick, Maine and Robert Cote of Derry, NH, a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Sybert of Milford, NH, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Cote, her sister, Yvonne Lapointe, and her brothers Rene and Raymond Blanchette. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
