Clyde S. Taylor, 83, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 following a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of Lena (Damiani) Taylor, with whom he shared fifty-nine years of marriage. Born in Cumberland, RI on July 17, 1928, he was the son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Spaulding) Taylor. He was raised and educated in Rhode Island and was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School, Class of 1946. An honorably discharged veteran, he served in the US Army from 1946-1949. Mr. Taylor was employed as a traffic manager for the James River Corp. in Fitchburg for many years. A Fitchburg resident for more than fifty years, he had resided in Danvers since 2009. A Past Grand Knight of the Leominster Knights of Columbus, Council #406, he served on the Knights Traveling Cribbage Team. He enjoyed traveling and was an ardent Patriots fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Donna Kymalainen and her husband John of Danvers, Debra Taylor and her husband Thomas of Lincoln, and Michael Taylor and his wife Karen of Mt. Dora, FL, two grandchildren, Alyssa and Erik Kymalainen, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Robert, Frank, Juanita, and Shirley. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Taylors name may be made to the Twin Oaks Nursing Home Activity Fund, 63 Locust St., Danvers, MA 01923.
