Corinne L. Pomroy

corinne pomroy
Corinne L. Pomroy, age 96, of Boxford, passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Corinne was the devoted wife of the late Franklin P. Pomroy, who predeceased her in 2011, and together they built a life filled with love and mutual respect. She was born on February 18, 1927 in Peabody to the late William and Muriel (Jordan) Anderson and was a graduate of Peabody High School. Corinne's life was a testament to her caring and kind nature. She loved dearly her family who were her everything. She was the epitome of selflessness by her ability to take on any role that was asked. Not one to be the focal point of an event, but the one who prepared it which brought her great joy. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, Corinne was a great cook and baker, always the first one up and in the kitchen every holiday. She was a resident of Boxford for 54 years and enjoyed summering at her lake house overlooking Mount Katahdin in Millinocket, Maine. She instilled core family values. Her nurturing personality and ability to effortlessly manage everything made her a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Words cannot explain how dearly missed she will be. After 40 years at GTE Sylvania, she took on the full-time role of caring for her two grandchildren. Her duties had no end – from picking them up from school, driving to soccer practices, cleaning the house, to having dinner ready. Her domestic qualities were never expected but always greatly appreciated. She leaves behind a loving family: her daughters, Cathy Carr and her husband, Philip, of Fort Myers, Florida, and Karen Nelson and her husband, Richard, of Topsfield; granddaughters, Heather Pomroy Barry and her husband, Devin of Boxford. Brianna Marjorie Pomroy Nelson and her boyfriend Brian Reardon of Boston; three great-grandchildren, Harper, Everleigh, and Pembrooke (Barry); and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Robert Anderson and Gloria Rice. Her funeral service will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at noon. Burial will be private.
