DANVERS—Daniel R. Fifield, 61, died Tuesday evening, October 18, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of Gail (LeBrun) Fifield, with whom he shared forty-two years of marriage. Born in Salem on August 14, 1950, he was the son of Marilyn (McCormack) Fifield of Danvers and the late Robert F. Fifield, Jr. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1968. For many years, Dan was the manager of the Shell Service Station on High Street in Danvers. He also was employed for ten years at Symmetricom in Beverly and for several years at Kernco in Danvers. A fifty year resident of Danvers, Dan had made his home in Poland, Maine since 2000. He had been a league bowler for many years and enjoyed woodcarving and relaxing at his lakeside home in Maine. In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves two children, Kellie Dury and her husband Jeffrey of Lewiston, ME and Matthew Fifield of Norway, ME, a sister, Teresa Pike and her husband Thomas of Saco, ME, a brother, Richard Fifield and his wife Jeanne of Poland, ME, four grandchildren, Jeffrey Dury Jr. and his wife Jeannette, Kylee Dury, Anastasia Gregg, and Mercedes Fifield, and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 9AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
