David Albert Walsh, 78, died Monday, July 11, 2011 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Noctor) Walsh, with whom he shared fifty-eight years of marriage. Born in Topsfield on Feb. 7, 1933, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Nadeau) Walsh. He was raised and educated in Topsfield and had been a longtime Topsfield resident until moving to Boxford eighteen years ago. Mr. Walsh served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He was a carpenter on the North Shore for many years, and also worked at Polaroid until the time of his retirement. He was an avid gardener. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Brenda Walsh Didlake of Eaton Rapids, MI and William Walsh and his wife Paige of Haverhill, three granddaughters, Stephanie and Alexandra Didlake and Madison Walsh, a great-grandson, Ethan Dobbins, two sisters, Jeannette Bradstreet and Rosemarie Walsh, four brothers, James, Richard, Edmund, and Phillip Walsh, a beloved friend James Silva, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary-Jane Perkins, and a brother, Robert Walsh. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 5, Lawrence, MA 01843-1740.

Sorry for your loss Brenda. Fathers have a special bond with daughters but even though he is gone from this earth he will remain, forever in your heart and his spirit lives on through you and your family. Hugs!
