David R. Bevan

David R. Bevan, 78, peacefully lost his courageous battle with cancer on December 6, 2011 in his home surrounded by his devoted family. Born and raised in Shenandoah, PA, he was the son of the late David and Florence (Glover) Bevan. David was the loving husband of Barbara A. Bevan with whom he shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and retired Plant Manager at EG & G Wakefield Engineering. David, better known as “Pop” found most enjoyment in spending time in his home and backyard with the company of his family and friends. He was an active member of Danvers Little League and Senior League Baseball and a social member of the Polish Club in Danvers, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Nancy McHugh and her husband Joseph of Windsor, VT, David Bevan and his wife Darlene, Scott Bevan and his wife Barbara, Denise Sarro and her husband Ronald and Dotti McBournie and her husband David, all of Danvers. He was predeceased by his sisters Ruth Nanatowicz and Marie Nowak. David’s pride and joy was his eleven grandchildren, Thomas, Joseph and Sherrie McHugh, Nicole Chouinard and her husband Mark, Brittany Bastable and her husband Dan, Brooke Bevan, Scott Bevan and his wife Kim, Ashley Bevan and Jason, Jared and Jaclyn Sarro and his great granddaughter Kayleigh Chouinard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and countless friends. A Funeral will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 in Maple Street Congregational Church, Danvers. Vst. hrs are Thurs. 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in David’s name to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.

I am deeply sorry to hear the news about Pop Bevan. My condolences and I apologize that I was not able to be there with my mom and Michael. He will be greatly missed by my family and I.
