Dennis Patrick Coffey, 68 of Danvers passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family by his side.
Born in Malden on October 25, 1957 he was the son of the late Daniel and Marion (Stevens) Coffey.
Dennis was raised in Malden and married his high school sweetheart Sherry at the age of 20. Together they shared 49 years of marriage and built a life in Malden before residing in Melrose, Saugus, Peabody and Danvers. Dennis worked as a county Constable and later served with the Middlesex County House of Correction as a Sergeant/Correctional Officer from 1987 until 2007.
Dennis loved fishing at local ponds, watching old movies and television shows and most of all spending time with his family. He traveled to Ireland, Hawaii and Aruba. He enjoyed winters in Bonita Springs and Estero Florida. Dennis laughed easily and was deeply protective of those he loved. His signature hearty rendition of Happy Birthday will remain a cherished memory to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sherry, his children Jason and girlfriend Roseann Nogueira of Saugus, daughter Jill and husband Steve Ciulla and grandchildren Grayson and Jameson of Melrose, his siblings Donna Daly and her husband Jack of Lincoln, NH, Diane Casey and her husband Tom of Hudson, NH , David Coffey of Burlington and Dana Coffey and his wife Melissa of Arkansas, his in-laws, Paulette Coffey of Gloucester, Stephen Nickerson and wife Laurie of Nottingham, NH, Chris Nickerson and his wife Jenn of Marblehead, Susan D’Alessandro and her husband John of Plymouth and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Daniel Coffey and Doreen Allen and her husband Philip.
His funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dennis’ name to the American Diabetes Association.
