Donald E. Massucco

Donald E. Massucco, 80, passed away on Dec. 25, 2011 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the loving husband of Jeanette (McDonough) Massucco with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Boston on Aug. 22, 1931, he was the son of the late Robert and Rita (Meehan) Massucco. He served our country during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. Donald worked as a Transportation Planner for the Commonwealth of Mass. for over 35 years. Upon retirement he moved with his wife to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida were they resided for 15 years. While in Florida he ran and was elected as City Councilman and later was elected to Vice Mayor. Donald was always active within his community and was a member of several service and military service groups. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn Marie and James Prochilo of Peabody and Sheri and Scott David of Rowley, two grandchildren, Heather and Kevin David, a brother Robert Massucco of Saugus and several nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Rita Ward. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. Vst. hrs are Thurs. from 4-8PM in the funeral home.
