Donald G. Demmons, Sr., 77, passed away on June 8, 2014 in Brentwood Nursing Home, Danvers. Born on April 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Stewart) Demmons. He was raised and educated in Danvers. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Donald had been employed with Line Lumber Company first in Danvers and then in Stoughton. He had been a resident in Stoughton for many years. Donald was a talented woodworker. He was also a Mason with the Amity-Mosaic Lodge in Danvers. He is survived by five children, Mark Demmons of New York, Donald Demmons, Jr. of Boston, Nancy Hart and her husband Thomas of Florida, Jill Souther of Byfield and Michael Demmons of New Hampshire, three siblings, Dottie Curtis of Danvers, Harold Demmons of Danvers and Doris Lundquist of Kentucky, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by five siblings, Joyce Hussey, John Demmons, Elizabeth Lyons, Margaret Moore and Robert Demmons. His Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
