DANVERS- Donald J. Kennedy, 73, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022, in his home. He was the husband of Jacqueline S. (Silva) Kennedy with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Thomas and Beatrice (MacInnis) Kennedy. Donald was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School. He attended and graduated Wentworth Institute of Technology. Prior to retirement, Donald had been employed with General Electric for over 30 years as an engineer in the Aircraft Engine Group. Donald enjoyed history, woodworking, billiards and various games of skill. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Donald had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Chloe. Donald will be remembered for being proud of his Irish heritage and family and sharing a lifetime of love and companionship with his best friend and wife, Jacqueline. In addition to his wife, Jacqueline, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brendan and Traci Kennedy of Newmarket, NH and Daniel and Katherine Kennedy of Dover NH; his brother Kevin Kennedy and his wife Mary Hughes of NY; three grandsons, Joshua Feltner and his wife, Molly, Jeremy Kennedy and Elijah Kennedy; two great grandchildren Kaia and Remy and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Thomas and Patricia Kennedy. His Funeral Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to Care Dimensions, 75, Sylvan St., Danvers, MA or Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.   1. Worked with Don for many years in bldg29, I was always impressed by his intelligence and humility. He had a great sense of humor and would often talk of “sitting” under his backyard apple tree…sipping his favorite libation 😉
