Dorothy E. (Roy) Hennessey, 90, passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Hennessey. Born in Lexington on July 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alderic and Anna (Thorsen) Roy. She had been a resident of Danvers since 1964. Dorothy was employed as a quality control inspector for Millipore for many years. She had been a member of the Danvers River Committee and enjoyed spending time at the Danvers Senior Center. Dorothy was also a champion knitter and loved to garden. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ann and Curtis Hill of Danvers and Roberta Hennessey of Danvers, four grandchildren, Zachary Ryan, Martha Earls, Elizabeth Hill-Gest and Peter L. Hill, two great-grandchildren Haileyann and Manon and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Pageau Brunelle and Malvina Nimblett. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM on Wed., Nov. 10, 2010 in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Vst. hrs will be held prior to the service 9:30-10:30AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Danvers People to People Food Pantry PO Box 2076, Danvers, MA, 01923
