Douglas S. Keller
June 13, 1956 ~ October 21, 2023
Douglas S. Keller, Sr., 67, of Amesbury, died Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, with his loving family at his side.
Born in Peabody on June 13, 1956, to the late Joseph and Adele (Grigonis) Keller, Doug grew up in Danvers, where he received his education and was a proud graduate of the Danvers High School, class of 1974. His dedication to work was evident in his four-decade-long tenure at Dow Chemical.
Amesbury had been Doug's home since 1995, and it was here that he celebrated his many passions. An ardent lover of antique cars, Doug's eyes lit up at car shows, with a particular soft spot for Corvettes. Yet, it was his role as a doting grandfather that truly defined him. His love for his family was paralleled only by his fondness for his 12-year-old dachshund, Bentley. An outdoor enthusiast, Doug relished the simple pleasures of fishing, tending to his yard, and savoring delicious seafood.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Joanne M. "Cookie" (Falasca) Keller. Their love story has been a testament to enduring love and companionship. Together, they raised a wonderful son, Douglas S. Keller, Jr., who, with his wife Alexandra, blessed Doug with a grandson, Axell Joseph, whom he cherished.
He also leaves two brothers, Wayne Keller and Ronald Keller and his wife Janice, two sisters, Judith Hardy and her husband Douglas and Janice Pedersen and her husband Robert, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Kevin Keller.
Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2023 from 11AM-11:45AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. His Funeral Service will follow at noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in in Annunciation Cemetery. To share an expression of sympathy with Doug’s family, please visit www.LyonsFuneral.com.
So sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. Condolences to all who loved him. May he rest in peace.
Uncle Doug, you were an amazing uncle and friend. I have never met someone so funny in my entire life or someone who loved seafood as much as you. I’ll miss the funny stories you had to tell during the Keller Family Christmas Parties. You will be missed by each and everyone of us as our family is not complete without you in it. I still remember the day you went over grandmas with Aunt Cookie and Dougie to give grandma, Aunt Cookies’ famous meatballs and grandma her very own first pink tool set. I have never seen her so happy in my life. You have always been so thoughtful like that. I hope you are in heaven with all our loved ones and are making others laugh as you did for all of us. Thank you for putting a smile on each one of our faces in life. You will forever be missed and never forgotten. <3 Love Melissa and Sami.
I had the pleasure of working side by side with Doug @ Alfa in Danvers many years ago. He always wanted to go to fishing after work. He loved that ! So sorry to hear about his passing. Sounds like he had a good life after a sale of the company spilt us all up. Once again so sorry to hear this news. Richie Lenz.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you
