March 1977. Me and Ed are at the Springsteen show at The Music Hall in Boston. We are in the last row in the balcony in seats that are all the way to the left against the wall. Near the end of the show Bruce looks up and I swear he saw us and he says, “Here’s a song for you guys in the cheap seats!” He plays “Rendeavous”. On the way home we are driving on Route One in Revere and the hood of my mother’s 1974 Ford Torino flips up.Somehow I am able to pull over and Ed closes the hood. We laughed about that for a long time. Ed we will laugh again the next time I see you. RIP brother.
