Eileen G. (Eastman) Carleton, 85, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, December 4, 2010. She was the wife of the late Stephen B. Carleton, with whom she shared nearly forty years of marriage. Born in Danvers on Dec. 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Eva (Ouimette) Eastman. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1942 graduate of Danvers High School, where she was a cheerleader. Mrs. Carleton worked for several years for the former Elliott Fuel in Danvers and later volunteered her time as a precinct warden and census taker for the town. A longtime parishioner of St. Richard Church, she had been active as a Girl and Boy Scout leader. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and bingo, and was a loving mother and dedicated grandmother. She is survived by two children, Detective Sgt. William Carleton and Judy Faustino of Danvers, and Elizabeth Carleton of Conway, NH, three grandchildren, Cassandra Faustino of Peabody, Courtney Faustino of Peabody, and Billy Carleton, Jr. of Danvers, three great-grandchildren, Aryanna, Natalie, and Nayla Faustino, a sister, Dorothy Donovan of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Gaudette, Bertha MacNeil, and Mildred Mackey and her brother Charles Eastman. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 9AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
