Eleanor "Elly" Monson

PEABODY- Elly (Eleanor) Monson, 95, a long-time resident of West Peabody who recently resided on Conant Street, Danvers peacefully passed away September 22, 2023 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Harry Monson. Beloved by many, Elly was admired for her quick wit & mischievous sense of humor, her strong independent streak, her self-sufficiency, her courage, her capacity for friendship, her dedication & loyalty, her absolute passion for dogs, and, most of all for her loving heart. Elly is survived by her granddaughters Dusty Seifers of Hazelton, IN, Gina Tomes of Louisville, KY, Elizabeth Fouts of Charlestown, IN, her great-grandchildren Rachel, JonMark, Grace, Ryan, Lilly, Jack, Sophie, Ezekiel, Hannah, & Gabriel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elly was predeceased by her son, Mark Spiliotis, her parents Lillian & John Norton, her siblings Helen Kolhonen, Ann Krol, James Norton, Dorothy Gray, Irene Walters, and Lillian Fecteau, and her grandson Nathan Spiliotis. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 10-11AM with family to share memories at 11AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pine St., Peabody.
