Eleonora Kudera, aged 92, passed away in her home on March 6, 2025. Born on May 24, 1932, in Czechoslovakia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Antonin and Anna Kudera.
Eleonora’s early years were marked by her family’s relentless efforts to bring her to the safety of the United States. At the age of 28, she bravely made the journey alone and built a new life in her adopted country.
For thirty-seven years, Eleonora was employed with GTE/ Sylvania. Though she never obtained her driver’s license, she found joy in riding her bicycle everywhere she went. She was a communicant of Saint Richard Parish in Danvers. Eleonora also cherished her time at the Danvers Senior Center, where she made many dear friends.
Her passions included gardening, spending time outdoors, and caring for her beloved cats. Throughout her life, she lovingly tended to over fifteen cats, each one holding a special place in her heart.
Eleonora is survived by her family in Germany, Dieter and Ingrid Buchwald, and by Paul and Joyce Maag of New Hampshire, along with their children, Brittany Maag of New Hampshire and Brianna Wynn of Virginia. Additionally, she leaves behind her dear friend, Michael Mancusi. She was predeceased by her family in the United States, including Kathleen Maag, Warren and Mary Maag, Bertha Maag, Minnie Maag, Arthur and Dorothy Maag, as well as Helen Nichols.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Following the mass, Eleonora will be laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, prior to the mass, from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited.
