Elizabeth A. Tully

Elizabeth A. (Carroll) Tully, 91, died Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late George J. Tully. Born in Gloucester on July 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Richard T. and Marion J. (Hemmer) Carroll. She was raised and educated in Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School. She then served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, stationed in San Diego. A longtime Danvers resident, Mrs. Tully retired in 1987 after having been employed by the U.S. Government for 35 years. She leaves two sons, Richard P. Tully of South Carolina and George V. Tully of Danvers, her sister, Cynthia Sawyer of Gloucester, her brothers, Richard G. Carroll of Colorado, Charles E. Carroll of Nevada, and John P. Carroll of Gloucester. She was predeceased by two children, Robert G. and Carole E. Tully. Burial was held in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
