Elizabeth “Betty” V. (Calder ) Hutchinson

88, passed away in Beverly Hospital. She was the dear wife of the late Robert F. Hutchinson. Born in Boston on Aug. 25, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Ann (Caley) Calder. She was raised and educated in Danvers and a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1940. She moved to Beverly with her husband, where they raised their family. Mrs. Hutchinson was employed as a nurse’s aide in Beverly Hospital for 25 years. She was also a past president of the St. Mary’s Guild and a 4-H Leader. She was a former communicant of St. Alphonsus Parish. She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law Richard and Kathy Hutchinson of Beverly, three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Don Femino of Beverly, Julie and Michael Dunn of CA and Colleen and Chip Castle of NY, a daughter-in-law Susan Hutchinson Bresnahan of Danvers, a sister-in-law Mary Calder of Topsfield, 12 grandchildren, Julie, Joseph and Donald Femino, Todd, Robert, Sean, Stephen and Jeffrey Hutchinson, Tracy Sheehan, Beth Rossi, Shelley Dunn and Andrew Castle, nine great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Robert D. Hutchinson and many siblings. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Fri., Oct. 23, 2009 at 11AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot St., Beverly. Burial will follow in No. Beverly Cemetery. Vst. Hrs are Thurs. 4-8pm at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Lung Assoc., 460 Totten Pond Rd, Waltham, MA 02451.
I’m very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Hutchinson was always very sweet to me and my family. I fondly remember the backyard summer and christmas parties from when I was young. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. -Bill Jr.
