Ellen Higgins

Ellen L. (Fuller) Higgins, 82, died Friday evening, April 2, 2010 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the loving wife of the late Leonard N. Higgins, Sr. Born in Lynn on April 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Eva (Therrien) Fuller. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a Danvers resident for over thirty-five years before moving to Peabody, where she has resided for nearly twenty years. For many years, Mrs. Higgins was employed at Amicon in Danvers. An avid traveler, she especially enjoyed trips to Maine. She enjoyed reading, loved to dance, and was a wonderful cook. She was especially dedicated to her dog, Sabrina. She loved her family and was adored by her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Gregware and her husband Kendrell of Marblehead, a son, Leonard Higgins, Jr., of Peabody, a sister, Marion Snow of Peabody, a brother, Herbert Fuller of Peabody, 6 grandchildren, Brian Higgins, Michelle Higgins and her fiancé Stefan St. Amand, David Higgins and his wife Melissa, Nicole Salemi and her husband Steven, and Kimberly and Kelley Gregware, and 3 great-grandchildren, David, Seth, and Camden. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11:00AM in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Higgins’ name may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
