Esther Lillian (Dumas) Blanchette

Esther Lillian (Dumas) Blanchette, 79, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2013 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington surrounded by her whole family. She was the beloved wife of the late Laurent J. Blanchette with whom she shared 31 years of marriage. Born in Peabody on March 31, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Florido and Loudiana (LeBlanc) Dumas. Esther has been employed at Sylvania for 35 years and also worked at Devcon after her retirement from Sylvania. Esther was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crocheting, line dancing, fishing and going to the beach. She also enjoyed raising her dogs and bird watching. Her family meant the most to her. She is survived by her daughter Joanne Zagarella and her husband William of Amesbury and her son, James Blanchette and his wife Beth of Arundel, Maine, her grandchildren, Danny Zagarella and his wife Mariah, Melissa, Gregory and Nathan Zagarella and Laurent Blanchette and his fiancé Stephanie, her great grandson Wyatt Blanchette, her sister Jeannette Wright of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight siblings. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Esther’s name to the American Red Cross, PO Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340-2018.

Hi, Our sympathy to the family of Esther Blanchette. She was a pal of ours at line dancing classes and at the Pizza parties at the senior centers. We always sat at the same table and had a good time. Haven’t seen her for a while but we had been thinking of her. Rite LaChance and Shirley Ganey
