Eugene Clancey

Eugene L. Clancey, 80, of Salisbury, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 26, 2012 in the Anna Jacques Hospital. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Francis and Pauline (Lowell) Clancey. He was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1949. A twenty year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Clancey served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his time in the service, he was employed as a materials manager at Mt. Auburn Hospital and later at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lowell. He was a member of the Dracut VFW and the Fleet Reserve Association. He is survived by his children, Kathleen Walker and her husband Christopher of Merrimac, David Clancey and his wife Joanne of West Newbury, and Stephen Clancey and his wife Violeta of Amesbury, five grandchildren, Colleen, Ryan, Stephen, and Jonathan Clancey and Chelsea Walker, and his former wife, Betty Forbes. He was the father of the late Kevin Clancey and brother of the late Paul Clancey. As reuested, funeral services are private.
