Evelyn H. (Hoare) Mackel, 92, passed away on January 15, 2013 in Putnam Farm Assisted Living in Danvers. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry T. Mackel. Born in Manchester on July 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Henry and Ethel (McDiarmid) Hoare. She was a longtime Danvers resident. Evelyn had been an active member of the Maple Street Congregational Church in Danvers and a member of the Maple Eves. She was a retired Registered Nurse and was employed with Salem Hospital and then for many years as a school nurse for the Danvers Public Schools. She is survived by a son, Steven Mackel and his wife Kathy of Pembroke, two daughters, Dawn Papamechail and her husband Michael of Danvers and Sandra Rau and her husband Paul of AZ, seven grandchildren, John Papamechail, Christopher Papamechail, Amy Barth, Dan Mackel, Leah Suarez, Andrew Rau and Nathan Rau and seven great grandchildren, Nicole, Daria and Sophia Papamechail, Michael and Sadie Papamechail, Jackson Barth and Ryan Mackel. She was predeceased by her sisters Doris Connors and Eleanor Hoare. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Maple Street Congregational Church, 90 Maple St, Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Evelyn’s name to the Maple Street Congregational Church, 90 Maple St., Danvers, MA, 01923 or Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St, Danvers, MA 01923.
