F. John McGann

F. John “Jack” McGann, 97, died Monday morning, June 3, 2013 at home in Topsfield following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Doris (Demars) (Bedell) McGann. Born in Beverly on Nov. 29, 1915, he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Naylor) McGann. He was raised and educated in Beverly Farms and was a graduate of Beverly High School and Bentley College. A veteran of WWII, he served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jack was employed in sales for the former United Shoe Machinery Corp in Beverly and Boyle Machine in Peabody. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Tedesco Country Club. He is survived by his son, Kevin McGann of NH, his stepdaughters, Patricia Carroll and her husband Stephen of Topsfield and Bonnie Foreman and her husband Olin of CT, his brother Richard McGann, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepson, Thomas Bedell, and his brothers Andrew, William, and Thomas McGann. His Funeral Service will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Beverly Farms Cemetery, Beverly. As requested there are no visiting hours.
