Florence M. (McInnis) Mackey, 83, passed away on December 1, 2014 in her home. She was the loving wife of Herbert L. Mackey of Salem. Born in Danvers on May 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles Augustus and Margaret (Dykes) McInnis. She was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School in 1949. Florence supported her husband in the family business, Thomas Mackey & Sons, Inc. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish in Salem. Florence was known for her kindness and her sweet and loving nature. Besides her husband, Herbert, she is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Elaine Mackey of Salem and Kathy and Andrew Locke of Beverly, her grandchildren, Brianna Mackey and Ryan and Reagan Locke, her siblings, James A. McInnis of Danvers and Annie Zaremba of Chelsea and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles McInnis, Priscilla Comeau, Betty Perry and William McInnis and Mary Simard. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Memorial contributions may be made in Florence’s name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.

  1. Mrs. Mackey is the Mother of my best friend Elaine and was always very good to me. I will always remember how both my sons had a favorite baby blanket from birth and they were both gifts from Mrs. Mackey. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
