Frank L. Beckhusen, 76, passed away on July 25, 2012 in Kaplan Family Hospice House after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in New York City on November 13, 1935, he was the son of the late Arthur and Helen E. (Thury) Beckhusen. He was raised and educated in the Elmhurst neighborhood in Queens, NY, where he graduated from Newtown High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963, based out of the former Nike missile site in Beverly, and has remained a resident of the North Shore since. He was employed as a milk delivery man for H.P. Hood for 40 years before retiring in 2002. During his retirement, he also worked at NAPA in Peabody delivering automotive parts. He loved baseball and was an avid Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed going to the White Mountains and treasured spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Linda Young and her husband John of Augusta, ME, Cynthia A. Beckhusen and her companion Stephen Munroe of Salem, Frank A. Beckhusen and his wife Cynthia of Salem, and David B. Beckhusen of Peabody; five granddaughters, Cassie M. Beckhusen of Seabrook, NH, Carlie L. Beckhusen of Hampton, NH, and Jenna, Hannah, and Hailey Beckhusen, all of Salem; two great grandsons, John S. Belanger, Jr. of Seabrook, NH and Chase M. Hite of Hampton, NH; a sister, Helen C. Laube and her husband Donald, and a brother, William H. Beckhusen and his wife Arleene, all of San Diego, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Arthur H. Beckhusen, Madelyn H. Beckhusen, Harry Wernicke, Louise (Wernicke) Hauser, Henry F. Beckhusen, and Robert J. Beckhusen. . Visiting hours are Monday, July 30, 2012 from 5-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be donated to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
