George F. Troy, 81, formerly of Danvers and Somerville, passed away on July 7, 2024. He was the husband of the late Margaret R. (Rimkus) Troy, his high school sweetheart and his wife of 49 years. Born in Somerville on May 8, 1943, George was the son of the late Patricia (Carmichael) Troy and Francis Troy of Prince Edward Island, Canada. He was raised and educated in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School in 1961. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1967. George had been employed by Bay State Computers, Aztec, and Presidio in Woburn, MA prior to his retirement. George is survived by his three children and their spouses, Barry and Laurie Troy of Georgetown, Sherry and John Roberts of Melrose and Tracey and Frederick Wilhelm of Chesapeake, VA, his brother and his wife, John “Jack” and Nancy Troy of Melrose, his sister-in-law, Donna Troy of Andover and seven beloved grandchildren, Kylie, Cassidy and Brennan Troy, Timothy and Matthew Roberts and Madison and Breeann Wilhelm as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Arthur and Robert Troy. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 12, 2024, in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 4-7 PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of George Troy to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA, 02284 or www.dana-farber.org/gift.

Johnny G will be waiting with open arms … George will be missed GREAT FRIEND to alllllllll especially to John .., My guess Johnny will be playing for the 20k that the Owners took from him before John passed away without returning to his wife / family … It should be a GREAT match as usual ….
