George Koban

George Koban, 84, passed away on May 13, 2014 in Peabody Glen Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine (Asloglou) Koban. Born in Danvers on May 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Antonio and Dora (Chuckran) Koban. George was raised and educated in Danvers. He served our country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He had been employed as a fabricator for General Electric for 25 years. George was a member of the VFW Charles W. Davis Post 2359 in Danvers and was an avid golfer and bowler. He had been a member of the Wenham Country Club. He is survived by three siblings, Andrew Koban of Danvers, Eleanor Blanchette of Danvers and Daniel Koban of Beverly and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Vassell and John Koban, Anna Larrabee, Mary Koban, Esther Young and Eva Russell. At the request of the family, all services are private.
